一个常见的苏格兰民间故事是海狗和十个孩子的故事。 海狗把九个孩子引到它的背上,然后追赶第十个孩子。 孩子抚摸着它的鼻子,他的手指被卡住了。 他设法切断了自己的手指并逃脱了。 其他九个孩子被拖入水中,再也见不到了。
